Gozo & Comino
Gozo, called Għawdex (aow-desh) in Malti, is a gloriously pretty island, with what the 19th-century nonsense poet Edward Lear called a ‘pomskizillious and gromphibberous’ landscape. He coined the words especially, looking for a way to describe the island’s fairy-tale hillocks topped by enormous churches, its hidden, glittering coves, and its sculptured coastal cliffs. Gozo moves at a much slower pace than its bigger, busier neighbour. Although it is more than one-third the size of Malta, it has less than one-tenth of the population – only about 30,000 Gozitans live here (and they are Gozitans first, Maltese second). People leave their front doors unlocked; only one car has apparently ever been stolen, and the perpetrators were arrested before they reached the ferry. Lonely Planet Description

Trip Itinerary
Upon arrival in Malta International Airport (MLA), you will be transferred to Cirkewwa port, where you will travel by ferry to the idyllic island of Gozo. There, you will spend three nights at the 5* he Hotel Ta’ Cenc & Spa. this magnificent hotel enjoys the surroundings of clear blue sea, ruged land and lush nature. The grounds are, in themselves, one of the hotel’s many highlights. The dramatic Cliffside setting on the south side of the island offers enviable views of the Maltese archipelago and is the perfect base for exploring the many sights and sounds Gozo has to offer.
This morning, you will explore the unspoiled, tiny island of Comino, located between Malta and Gozo, by boat. In 1416, the Maltese petitioned the Aragonese king, Alphonse V, to build a tower on Comino as a deterrent to the corsairs who made it their base, but the people of the island had to wait two hundred years before work began and the Tower of Comino was only finally finished under Grand Master Alof de Wignacourt in 1618. With its handful of resident families and a single hotel, even now the atmosphere and landscape on Comino is that of a deserted but very beautiful island. Uninhabited and bare, the little island of Cominotto is immediately to the west of nearby Comino; the two islands are separated by a small channel, named the Blue Lagoon for its amazingly blue and crystalline waters. In 1993 much of the channel was closed to shipping to make it a pleasant and relaxing spot for bathing. You can enjoy the rest of the day exploring the beautiful corners of Gozo island. Dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant. Overnight stay in GOZO.
